Botetourt County Announces New Lieutenant

Fincastle, VA — The Department of Fire & EMS is excited to announce the promotion of Firefighter/Paramedic Darren Rock to the position of Lieutenant. Rock started with the fire and EMS service in 2002 as a volunteer with Blue Ridge Fire & Rescue. Fire & EMS staff member Thomas Holdren achieves certification as a Nationally Registered Paramedic.

Thomas Holdren has been certified as a Nationally Registered Paramedic. He began his emergency services career as a volunteer in Bedford County with Shady Grove Fire & Rescue, prior to joining Read Mountain Fire & Rescue in 2010. Thomas started with Botetourt County as a part-time EMT in 2012 and became a fulltime employee in 2013.
