Thomas Holdren has been certified as a Nationally Registered Paramedic. He began his emergency services career as a volunteer in Bedford County with Shady Grove Fire & Rescue, prior to joining Read Mountain Fire & Rescue in 2010. Thomas started with Botetourt County as a part-time EMT in 2012 and became a fulltime employee in 2013.
The Department sponsored Thomas in gaining his Intermediate Advanced Life Support certification in 2015. In March 2018, he then sought to obtain his paramedic certification. Thomas attended his paramedic course at the New River Valley Training Center, which is a partnership program between the Western Virginia EMS Council and Jefferson College of Health Sciences.
Please join the department in congratulating Thomas on this significant achievement.
